Puppies of Promise Spokane is always looking for more puppy raisers! Puppy raisers take puppies into their home at around eight weeks of age and return the puppies after about one year of socialization and obedience training in the raiser home. The puppy raiser plays an integral part in the journey of a dog becoming a guide. Without puppy raisers, there would be no seeing eye dogs! If you are interested in becoming a puppy raiser, please use the "contact us" page and we will provide you with the current meeting schedule and more information on volunteering!
Option Two: Become a Puppy Sitter!
Puppy sitters are a lot like puppy raisers in that they do everything a puppy raiser does with socialization and basic obedience, however these volunteers often don't have the time or ability to raise a puppy full time. Puppy sitters are unique volunteers in that they are puppy raisers but only for several days at a time. Puppy sitters are used by raisers to take care of a puppy in training while a raiser is on vacation or may not be able to take care of their puppy for as short as a few hours or up to to weeks at a time. Puppy sitters often participate in puppy trades which allow puppies in training to experience new home situations and handlers. If you are interested in becoming a puppy sitter, please use the "contact us" page and we will provide you with the current meeting schedule and more information on volunteering!
